CHELAN - In a loser out playoff game, Chelan came back from a 10 point deficit with two minutes to play to force overtime. The Goats then eliminated Cashmere with a 10 point overtime victory 79-69.
Chelan trailed by 9 points with 1:50 left in regulation. Dylan Jay then took over. He hit a three pointer in the corner and then after a Cashmere missed free throw. Jay hit a two pointer. After Cashmere made one of two free throws, Jay hit another three in transition and the Goats quickly fouled. After another Cashmere missed free throw, Isaac Wilson then dribbled through the Cashmere defense and hit a lay-up with just three seconds left.
Chelan ran away from the Bulldogs in overtime by scoring the first 8 points.
During the game, senior Braiden Boyd scored his 1,000 career point  as a Chelan Goat. Boyd finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Dylan Jay led all scorers with 34 and sealed the win with an emphatic dunk to push the Goats up by 10 with under 30 seconds to go. Jay scored 13 in the overtime period and 11 in the fourth quarter.
Head coach Tony Callero was impressed with the team's resiliency and singled out senior Tate Sandoval's emotional support on the bench as a key to the team's never say die attitude.
"With all the illness we have been facing, it would have been easy to look for excuses to quit but this team showed a ton of grit tonight."
The Goats were without three players all suffering from a flu like illness and two players returned to practice on Thursday after being ill for the previous four days.
Head coach Tony Callero said,  "Those two guys who had been so sick (Ryan Rainville and Boyd) were just warriors tonight who battled through their fatigue and willed this team to victory."
With the win, the Goats improved to 1-0 in the play-offs and traveled to Quincy on Tuesday, February 14 for another loser out battle.
The winner of that game will be playing for a birth into the state tournament against the second place NEA team.
The second place seed from the NEA will be determined on Wednesday and will be the loser of the  District 7 Championship game between Freeman and Lakeside.

CHELAN - The Chelan Mountain Goats and the Quincy Jackrabbits faced off tonight in a three vs. four match up in Chelan in what was a loser out game.
The league saw this same layout last year with Cashmere taking the #1 seed and Omak the #2. Chelan and Quincy were third and fourth respectively. History demonstrated this year how it repeats itself as Cashmere defeated the Omak Pioneers Friday night to move onto the crossover game.
The Goats jumped out to an early lead putting 16 first quarter points and only one point in the first quarter for Jackrabbits. The Goats were outscored however in the second quarter 12 to seven which included a steal and quick three point buzzer beater by Joslynn Simmons going into the half.
The Goats outscored the Jackrabbits 8-6 in the third quarter but pressure was put on them in the final quarter with Quincy’s 14 points to Chelan’s 10 mostly coming from the free throw line.
The final score of the game was Chelan 41 - Quincy 33.
All scores were led by Junior Arabelle Finch with 20 points. Kira Sandoval added eight points. Others contributing to the game were Reinhart five, Joslynn Simmons four, Perez two, Williams two,
The Goats faced the Omak Pioneers on Tuesday, February 14 in Omak for a loser out game winner to the crossovers in Spokane.
