Planned remodel, expansion of services at Heritage Heights fully funded

Work to begin in Spring of 2023

CHELAN - Lance Stark is a photographer, not an interior designer, but following his well-received exhibition at Heritage Heights as   September’s Artist of the Month, Stark donated 100 mounted photos of Lake Chelan landscapes and wild inhabitants to the non-profit.   The photo prints are framed and ready to hang and are already hugely popular with residents and visitors.  Starks’ photos will carry over as an important design element in the soon-to-be remodeled senior housing facility.
The scenes currently enrich hallways and gathering places and “always seem to bring out the stories” says Deseria Bare, Executive Director.  “Everyone loves them.”
Heritage Heights’ board and staff are especially grateful to have the popular visuals making the move to the newly-refurbished building this coming Spring, when the foundation-to-roof remodel is scheduled to complete.
“We will have the latest systems and meet the highest standards for assisted living, respite and memory care in the beautifully designed interior,”  Bare explained, “Yet it’s the familiar that calms and reassures.  Lance Stark has given us exactly the right thing at the right time and we’re so glad to have them.”
Timi Starkweather, Heritage Heights’ Board Chair, announced to her board members on Tuesday, October 18, that the planned remodel and expansion of services in the building is now fully funded.  “Grants, gifts and government-backed, low-interest loans are in place and we’re applying for permits,” she added.  “It’s all systems go.”
Following state and local approvals, construction is slated to   begin in January.  The plan calls for refurbishing an entire wing at a time, allowing residents to move from one wing to another as building continues.  Outside accommodations are also being considered, including short stays in seasonal resorts,  if necessary.
“Six months is lightning-fast in the construction world” said Jerry Tretwold, construction manager.  “We won’t be in building mode forever and, like all remodels, we’ll be glad we did it when it’s over.  By Spring, Chelan will have the best, premiere, top-of-the-line facility and services for our senior residents.”
And Stark’s photos will grace the virtually brand-new building’s meeting places, hallways and country kitchen/dining room areas,  beautiful reminders of familiar places and the world we love.
