Seasonal weight restrictions on roads in Chelan, Cashmere areas

Posted

CHELAN/MANSON/ENTIAT - Seasonal weight restrictions are on roadways in the Chelan and Cashmere road districts. Freight haulers are asked to watch the Chelan County Public Works website to keep up on additional restrictions throughout the county.
The special motor vehicle permit is available on the Traffic Alerts and Restrictions webpage. Applications must be in by 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday for approval for travel the following day. (If you need a permit on a Monday, the application must be in by 10 a.m. the previous Thursday.) Freight haulers who do not have a permit to travel on a weight-restricted road risk a fine as well as the cost of damages for any road repairs.
The following is a list of regularly scheduled maintenance for Chelan County Public Works for the week of Feb. 24. Maintenance plans may change with weather conditions or equipment difficulties. Visit the Public Works website, where the weekly road maintenance information is regularly updated.
District 4 (Entiat)
The crew will be doing spring cleanup, including brooming, throughout the district.
District 5
(Chelan-Manson)
Crews will be doing snow and ice control as needed and monitoring weight-restricted roadways. The crew also will be brooming all roads. And the crew will be ditching in the Manson area and on Stayman Flats Road. When crews are ditching, motorists should watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic in the work area. Plan for minor traffic delays, or avoid the area if possible.
