Blevins awarded Chelan Earth Day Fair scholarship

Posted
CHELAN - The Chelan Earth Day Fair Committee awarded its first student scholarship to long-time volunteer, Ian Blevins, who has an academic scholarship to Gonzaga where he will study engineering.  This $500 scholarship will help Ian with school related expenses.
Ian, volunteered for the Fair in various capacities for many years.  He had student booths that included the plastic pollution in the ocean, wind turbines, and the gravity light.  He was our imaginative and talented chalk artist drawing our planet at the information booth and sidewalk signs to help the fairgoers find difference parts of the Fair. Ian also helped Mark Tesch at the Kids Area, helping other students with the artwork and with the kids playing during the Fair. He  participated with 4-H with Fair tear down and Park clean up.
Thanks to the support from community sponsors and exhibitors, the 2021 virtual Chelan Earth Day Fair was a success.  In our after Fair critique meeting, the committee voted unanimously to use funds for a student scholarship, and other community donations that are pending.
Thanks again to everyone who supported and participated in the 2021 virtual Chelan Earth Day Fair. We plan to see you all in person at the 2022 Chelan Earth Day Fair at Riverwalk Park.   In the meantime, the videos from 2021 are available for viewing at chelanearthdayfair.org.
