Recap: The Manson girls stay undefeated in the Central Washington B league (8-0) and improve to 9-2 overall on the season. They also secured the first regular season league championship in team history! The young team went out and won the three varsity matches and the #3 singles and #2 doubles team defeated the playbacks as well. The #1 Doubles team of Afton Torgesen and Kayden Koth continued to play hard and have not lost a league match all year. Their only losses on the year have been to Chelan and Cashmere. Olivia Smith played very solid today as well. She made quick work of her opponent at the #1 singles spot. The other varsity match was #2 singles Natalee Reyna who defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0 as well. This was her first ever singles varsity match and she did a great job of moving her opponent all around the court. “I was really impressed with how quick Natalee is learning the game of tennis. She is very athletic, which helps, but she is also starting to strategize which is very exciting” Coach Johanson.

#1 Doubles: Cavan Willard/Ashton Fretwell (MAN) d. Trent Renslow/Karson Cole 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 7-5
#2 Doubles: Eli Willard/Jude Petersen (MAN) d. Camilo Barragan/Abrahim Ayala 6-1, 6-3
Recap: The boys also secured the regular season league championship and remain undefeated on the year. The boys are now 8-0 in league and 11-0 overall. This is the 2nd year in a row the boys finish the year undefeated and in 1st place in the Central Washington B League. The match of the day was the #1 doubles match between Cavan Willard/Ashton Fretwell and Trent Renslow/Karson Cole. The Entiat boys #1 doubles team was one of the best doubles team Manson had faced all year. Manson lost the first set in a tiebreaker before making some critical adjustments and winning the second set 6-1. The last set was very competitive and the Manson doubles team found themselves down 4-5 in the third set before winning three straight games to capture the win.
“I really appreciated the grit our #1 boys doubles team showed today after dropping the first set and then finding themselves down 4-5 in the 3rd set. Cavan Willard has played #1 doubles all year long and he is peaking at the right time (towards the end of the season)” Coach Johanson.
The other matches were smooth sailing for the Trojans and the three boys singles did not drop a game the entire match.
