Manger Mall 2020 a success

Posted
MANSON - The 12th annual Manger Mall was held at the North Shore Bible Church on Saturday, Dec. 12 and was a resounding success due to the amazing generosity of over 160 individuals and businesses in the Chelan Valley.  This year’s Manger Mall served nearly 300 families and more than 760 children.
Because of COVID-19, the usual format was changed to a drive through event.  Parents were given (Lake Chelan) Chamber Bucks Gift Certificates for each pre-registered child which could then be redeemed at over 500 stores and businesses who are members of the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce.  Definitely a win –win situation!  Santa and Mrs. Claus were there to wave and talk to the children and holiday carols played in the background.  There was even a lighted Christmas tree.
Donations from $20-$4,000 were received and we want to recognize our significant donors:  the American Legion Post #108, Bob and Meredith Beeson, Cairdeas Winery, Coldwell Banker Lake Chelan, Clark and Joan Donnell, Aaron England, Karen Feek, Darren Fricke,  Lake Chelan Community Service Council, Lake Chelan Health and Wellness Foundation, Lake Chelan Rotary, Diane Leigh, Manson Kiwanis, Kirk Mathewson, RE/MAX Advantage, Mary Signorelli, Dean and Christine Stensby, St. Francis Catholic Church Women’s Guild, Thrive Chelan Valley, Willow and Nancy Zuluaga.  Special thanks to the Lake Chelan Mirror,  the radio and the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce for their ongoing support.
The generosity of our community enabled the Manger Mall Team to purchase 800 Chamber Bucks Gift Certificates in the amount of $35 each.  That’s $28,000 worth of community generosity.  The handful of unused certificates were donated to Thrive and Chelan Valley Hope who in turn passed them on to families in need.  We are thrilled to say that every penny donated this year went to making a child’s Christmas special.   Donations that came in after the gift certificates were purchased will provide a much appreciated start for Manger Mall 2021.
Thank you to everyone for your tremendous support that made the spirit of the season come alive with hope and joy for many families and children in our valley.
