March For Our Lives event held

A peaceful march was held in Chelan which joined in the national June 11 March For Our Lives day. It was one of over 300 held nationwide.

Around 70 people, of all ages participated in the march organized by Jennifer Polley, Chelsey Martin and Kim Green.

Among the speakers was Mavis Moses, a student at Manson High School, who had a friend in a 2021 shooting in California. Other speakers were Jennifer Polley and Pastor Paul Palumbo of Lake Chelan Lutheran Church. March For Our Lives is nationally led by survivors of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. So far in 2022, there have been 233 mass shootings, 27 of those school shootings.
