The employees of the Lake Chelan Hospital held a 2 week money and food drive for the Lake Chelan Food Bank and collected over 1,000 pounds of food and over $17,000 for the food bank. The 100 plus employees of the hospital were divided into five teams, competing to see which team could raise the most money. The winning team was Team Maria with $6,838, followed by Team Jaime: $4,475, Team George: $3,310, Team Mike: $868 and Team Devon (Lake Chelan Clinic): $827. “This started with staff from our lab as they were thinking about national lab week and they came up with the idea. Rather than celebrating themselves, they thought, what can they do as a community services that would really have impact. We divided into teams here at the hospital and challenged each other internally to see how much money we could raise. Team members also went out into the community to ask for help raising money.
