Chelan Senior Center offers evening S.A.I.L. classes

Posted

Adults looking to improve strength, balance and fitness can participate in S.A.I.L. classes offered at the Chelan Senior Center.

S.A.I.L., which stands for “Stay Active and Independent for Life,” is an evidence-based fall prevention program focused on strength, balance and fitness.

The evening class meets Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., giving participants an opportunity to incorporate regular physical activity into their routines.

“On Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, these dedicated adults work hard to take the time to ‘work hard.’ By showing up and spending an hour twice a week, they are putting in the effort to keep and stay healthy,” said Vita Monteleone, director of community relations for the Lake Chelan Health & Wellness Foundation.

“As we age we need to keep our bodies sharp and our minds sharper. This class offers up just that,” Monteleone said.

The Chelan Senior Center also offers S.A.I.L. classes during the day on Mondays and Wednesdays. More information is available through the center.
