Van Keough-Michaels is balancing academics and life in Hawaii while pursuing a degree in physical therapy at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Keough-Michaels is a sophomore at the university and is carrying a demanding course load while maintaining a 3.94 GPA.

“He is working hard on class and his tan. But on the real side of life, Van is pulling a huge number of credits and earning a 3.94 GPA,” said Vita Monteleone, director of community relations for the Lake Chelan Health & Wellness Foundation.

“So that hard work/hard play is paying off. Keep that going. We are a proud foundation helping you with your financial aid,” Monteleone said.

The Lake Chelan Health & Wellness Foundation supports health care and wellness in the Lake Chelan Valley through funding for medical equipment, health care education and wellness programs.

The foundation also provides financial support for students pursuing health care education, including Keough-Michaels.

Its work is focused on supporting community health care, education and wellness while building awareness of its mission and strengthening partnerships with donors.
